Joshua Short is a San Francisco based artist working in sculpture and installation. His current work is situated in mythological themes of survival, creative existence and the use of discarded materials. Since 2009, he was awarded with an MFA from UC Davis, a Graduate Fellowship from the Headlands Center for the Arts and a grant in sculpture from the Joan Mitchell Foundation. His work has been presented in a variety of public spaces and cultural institutions such as the DiRosa Preserve, the Exploratorium, and the Recology Artist in Residency Program. As founding member of the the Cardboard Institute of Technology  the group has done several immersive environments throughout the Bay Area and beyond.

Beyond the Fine Art world Joshua has worked for many different clients in the television and film industry sharing his skills in animatronics, set building, prop and puppet design, story boarding and illustration. He has also used his fabrication skills to do interior design and site specific sculpture for restaurants and bars.
